About JMJ College, Tenali

Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ) College for Women, Tenali is one of the Minority Institutions established in 1963 to empower the rural and poor girls who are socially and economically backward. It is a Catholic Christian Minority Institution registered under the Society Registration act XXI of 1860. The college has a good reputation for its academic excellence and educating the young girls of Andhra Pradesh for the past 57 years. We are autonomous since 2005 and our college was also conferred with College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) status by UGC. The college has produced a number of distinguished alumnae who are working in India and abroad by standing as an icon in the field of Higher Education. We take pride with humbleness in standing firm in favour of the social, ethical and intellectual values which can really make a difference in the outlook of present day girl students. Our institution truly keeps a close vigil on the growth and development of the personality of our students through interactive methods of teaching and learning supported with appropriate field exercises and lab work.


To educate, enrich and empower the young girls to achieve academic excellence, spiritual growth and noble principles of life, to become integrated women force to lead home and society.


JMJ higher education aims to promote the intellectual development of the rural youth who are socially and economically backward, to enable them to serve the society. The institution aims at enhancing the levels of competence, commitment and compassion to prepare the students as dynamic leaders and global citizens.


We introduced B.Voc Courses at JMJ College for Women (A), Tenali from the academic year 2018-19. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved the B.Voc Courses under National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).
